‘Quite embarrassing’ – Reuben Abati faults Atiku’s take on Tinubu’s trip

Former presidential aide Reuben Abati has labeled African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar's criticism of President Bola Tinubu's three-week European vacation as “quite embarrassing”. During an appearance on Arise Television's 'Morning Show', Abati argued that the Atiku campaign was raising questions that were not well-researched.

This reaction came in response to Atiku's statement on Sunday, in which he lambasted Tinubu's absence from Nigeria during a period of widespread hardship, describing it as a troubling void in political leadership. Abati countered that Tinubu had every right to travel, provided his absence did not exceed the constitutional limit of transferring power formally.

"President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has now gone on what they call a working vacation for three weeks, which he is entitled to," Abati stated.
