Qatar warns against Israeli bid to impose new regional reality’

Qatar has ramped up diplomatic efforts to curb Israeli actions and avert a new regional reality, according to Dr Majed bin Mohamed al-Ansari, adviser to the prime minister and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In a weekly media briefing, al-Ansari highlighted Qatar's ongoing contacts with partners to ensure accountability for Israeli violations committed during the Gaza Strip war and military escalations.

He warned that many Israeli actions in Syria, West Bank, Jerusalem, Lebanon, and Syria are unjustified in the context of the region's conflicts. Qatar is leveraging its Arab-Islamic group and broader regional and international relationships to halt Israeli violations and maintain a firm stance against impunity for Palestinian people.

The recent visit of Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to Iran was part of a series of high-level trips to Tehran, including officials from Oman and Pakistan, to mediate and prevent escalation. Qatar continues to coordinate with mediation partners on the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the need for political solutions to restore a negotiating track.

The crisis's repercussions extend beyond the region, affecting global sectors like pharmaceuticals and energy. Despite the crisis's severity, al-Ansari expressed confidence in Gulf countries' ability to overcome challenges, rejecting suggestions of declining Gulf influence. Qatar remains actively engaged in Libya's efforts to build a stable and inclusive state, supporting a Libyan-led solution and international community assistance.
