Qatar condemns storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Israeli national security minister, groups of settlers

Doha - Qatar has strongly condemned the recent storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Israeli National Security Minister and groups of settlers. The State of Qatar considers this act a blatant disregard for international law and humanitarian principles, as well as an unwarranted provocation to the emotions of millions of Muslims across the globe.

In a statement published on Monday, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a religious site exclusively for Muslims. The ministry also asserted that any unilateral actions attempting to alter the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its sacred sites are invalid under international law.

The ministry expressed concern that these continuous violations and provocations could perpetuate cycles of violence and escalation in the region, thus jeopardizing the prospects for de-escalation and stability. It reiterated its plea to the international community to take immediate action to pressure Israel into halting its ongoing infringements against the Palestinian people and their holy sites, while also adhering to pertinent international resolutions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further reiterated Qatar's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people. This stance is rooted in the pursuit of ending the occupation and granting the Palestinian people their rightful entitlements, most importantly the establishment of an independent state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.
