PM Shehbaz departs for three-day Kyrgyzstan visit to attend SCO Summit

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a three-day official visit to Kyrgyzstan from Monday to Wednesday, at the invitation of President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov. During the trip, Shehbaz will join the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting and engage in bilateral talks with various leaders. His delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, and other senior officials.

Shehbaz will join the SCO Plus Summit and serve as Pakistan's Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) for 2026-2027. While in Kyrgyzstan, he will also attend the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games. On September 2, Shehbaz will hold bilateral discussions with President Zhaparov to review Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations and explore ways to deepen cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, energy, regional connectivity, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Both nations cherish a warm and fraternal relationship based on history, faith, cultural affinity, and common aspirations for peace, connectivity, and prosperity in Central and South Asia. This visit aims to capitalize on recent high-level exchanges, transform political goodwill into practical cooperation, and further strengthen the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
