Plateau bans illegal Hisba activities following operation of morality police in Jos North LGA

In Plateau State, police forces have reclaimed a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and an AK-47 rifle during a recent operation. The discovery was made by Mobile Police officers in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, following credible intelligence. The suspects, believed to be bandits, fled into the surrounding forest upon spotting the officers, leading to a thorough search of the area. The recovered GPMG was identified by the breech number T1102-20CH00007, while the AK-47 was marked with the number 1968M117479.

These weapons were recovered through intensified efforts by the police command to combat criminal activities and restore security in affected communities. The Commissioner of Police, Ayodeji Faniyan, had previously deployed additional personnel to the region to support the ongoing operation and apprehend the fleeing suspects. The investigation into the recovered weapons and the identification of those responsible has commenced.

Faniyan has appealed to residents to provide timely information about any suspicious activities occurring within their communities, aiming to assist security agencies in their efforts to protect lives and property across Plateau.
