Onam Week celebrations: Forest dept., ISRO among winners

The Kerala Tourism department has recently announced the winners of the 'Onam Tourism Week 2026' celebrations, including a diverse range of participants from various government and private sectors. Among the state government departments that participated, the Kerala Forest and Wildlife department emerged as the top winner, followed by the Excise department.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) claimed the first prize among central government institutions, with Southern Railway securing the second position. Public-sector institutions witnessed Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) and the National Ayurveda Mission sharing the first prize, while the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation and the Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat shared the second prize in the local self-government category.

The banking sector was won by NABARD, while Krupalayam Old-Age Home took the consolation prize. In the visual art forms category, Agasthya Siddha Marma Kalari Sanghom won the first prize, followed by Hussein Kollayil in the Arabanamutt category. Vignesh (Panchari Melam) and Kaurava Kalasamiti (Shinkarimelam) took the first and second prizes, respectively.

Keltron won the first prize in the illuminations category for the public sector, followed by Jalabhavan. The State Legislative Assembly complex secured the first prize among state departments, with Thiruvananthapuram Corporation taking the second position. Finally, Kalyan Silks emerged as the first prize winner in the private sector, with Anna Bhavan Restaurant securing the second prize.
