NSMQ 2026: TAMASCO triumphs over St. Hubert and Labone to clinch ticket to the semi-finals

Tamale Senior High School secured a spot in the semi-finals of the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after a nail-biting quarter-final clash against St. Hubert Minor Seminary SHS and Labone SHS. The Lions of Tamale emerged victorious with 36 points, narrowly edging out St. Hubert's 33 points, while Labone SHS ended the contest with 14 points.

The match was a thrilling affair, with Tamale and St. Hubert tied at 33 points after the fourth round before Tamale claimed the win in the final stretch. This marks Tamale SHS's fourth consecutive appearance in the semi-finals, with the school having reached this stage twice in recent years. The Lions of Tamale, representing the Northern Region, have once again proven their mettle on the national stage, advancing beyond another challenging quarter-final test.

St. Hubert SHS, making its quarter-final debut, secured the third position after defeating Koforidua Secondary Technical School and two-time finalists St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary. St. Hubert's return to seeded status was not to be, as they have now been eliminated. The 2026 NSMQ, produced by Primetime Limited and sponsored by various organizations, showcased the region's top-tier talent, with Tamale SHS, Prempeh College, St. Augustine’s College, Pope John SHS, and St. Hubert Minor Seminary qualifying for the semi-finals.
