NPP vetting marked by a lot of frank discussion – Afoko

Paul Awentami Afoko, the National Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), described his party's vetting process as a candid and extensive discussion with the committee, exceeding a routine exercise. Mr Afoko told journalists post the session at the NPP's Greater Accra Regional headquarters in Kokomlemle, that the session included unexpected inquiries that challenged him beyond his prepared responses and provided ideas for his party's strategy leading up to the 2028 general elections.

He expressed his belief that the process was fair and firm, and praised the committee's caliber. Mr Afoko, however, refrained from divulging details of the discussions, citing a confidentiality agreement he had signed. Despite maintaining the details private, he stated he was content with his performance and believed he had satisfactorily addressed all committee questions.

Mr Afoko also indicated that his campaign was expanding nationwide, with several regions already covered, and he was set to continue campaigning after the vetting session. This vetting is part of the NPP's internal electoral procedures as they prepare for the 2028 general elections.
