Muntaka commissions new classroom block for Sakafia SHS

Alhaji Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, Member of Parliament for Asawase in the Ashanti Region, recently commissioned a new six-unit first-floor classroom block at Sakafia Senior High School. This addition aims to enhance teaching and learning in the school. The new facility, which also includes offices and stores, is part of a broader effort to improve educational infrastructure in the Asawase area.

Sakafia Senior High School is already benefiting from other significant projects, such as a 2,000-seat assembly hall and a four-storey girls’ dormitory. The Asawase MP and Minister for the Interior stated during the commissioning ceremony that the completion of this project marks another step forward in addressing infrastructure needs within his constituency.

The additional facilities will further strengthen the school's infrastructure and increase its capacity to accommodate students. Muntaka emphasized the government's commitment to President John Dramani Mahama's vision of expanding access to quality education and providing schools with necessary facilities to support effective teaching and learning.

After the commissioning, Muntaka cautioned students against drug abuse, urging them to remain disciplined, focus on their studies, and make responsible choices to safeguard their health, education, and future. The management and staff of Sakafia SHS presented a citation to the MP in recognition of his contribution to the school's growth.

During the ceremony, dignitaries including Mr. Ben Abdallah Alhassan and Mr. Abubakar Sadique, Municipal Chief Executives from Asokore Mampong and Tafo Municipal Assemblies, respectively, along with Municipal directors of education, traditional leaders, members of the clergy, and other stakeholders attended the event.
