Mumbai: In the ongoing investigation into the alleged Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Drug Inspector examination paper leak, police have uncovered a troubling connection between accused director Pravin Patil and former student Gopal Marathe. Marathe, who was once enrolled in Pravin Patil’s Kautilya Classes, is suspected of leaking the examination paper under Patil’s influence.

Investigators have noted a pattern of frequent communication between the two, raising questions about their possible collaboration in the alleged scheme. The investigation has also highlighted a shared background, as Marathe and Patil are reportedly hailing from the same village, further suggesting a possible shared network. The Crime Branch is looking into the possibility that Marathe collected money from Patil and later passed it on to two other MPSC officials, as well as facilitating the transfer of the leaked examination paper.

The investigation is also probing whether the alleged scheme extended beyond the Drug Inspector examination to other competitive exams. Police are intensifying their probe into the financial transactions and communication between the accused to unveil the full extent of the alleged paper-leak network.
