MoEHE welcomes over 10,000 pupils to schools with gifts

Doha, Qatar witnessed the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's (MoEHE) launch of the "First Step" initiative, welcoming over 10,000 first-grade pupils across government primary schools. This initiative, in collaboration with Rafeeq, marks the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year.

The program, part of the national back-to-school campaign, provided welcome gifts and essential school supplies to 10,700 newly enrolled first-grade students in 103 government primary schools. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, deputy undersecretary of MoEHE, inaugurated the initiative during visits to Al Rashad Model School for Boys and Al Bayan First Primary School for Girls, accompanied by Rafeeq's CEO, Abdullah Thamer Al Hemeidi, and other ministry officials.

During these visits, Dr. Al Nuaimi interacted with first-grade students, distributing "First Step" gifts and creating an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm, signaling the start of their educational journey. The initiative aims to ensure a positive and motivating experience for children as they transition into school life, fostering a sense of belonging and reinforcing the school as a safe, supportive, and stimulating place for learning.

The ministry emphasized its commitment to placing students at the center of its priorities, ensuring a warm welcome and a nurturing environment for every child entering school for the first time. Dr. Al Nuaimi described the school as a "second home," emphasizing the need to open its doors with love, security, education, and knowledge.

Rafeeq's CEO, Abdullah Thamer Al Hemeidi, expressed pride in participating in the initiative, highlighting the company's role in supporting educational and community efforts as a responsible Qatari entity. He emphasized that the initiative represents an investment in the future of thousands of children, creating smiles and positive memories as they embark on their educational journey.
