Malondie unveils SS26 collection inspired by women, sunlight and fireflies

Malondie unveiled its SS26 collection, inspired by women, sunlight, and fireflies, during a recent event. The showcase took place at Pere House in Midrand on August 29 and featured a diverse lineup of models, including pregnant women, to represent various women and their roles in life. Malondie founder Londeka Buthelezi-Ndaba emphasized the importance of showcasing different types of women, stating that they all contribute to making the world a better place.

The SS26 collection draws inspiration from the sun and fireflies, which serve as central elements of some of the garments. The designer revealed that creating the collection was challenging, with moments of doubt and questioning whether she would achieve the desired outcome. However, the end result proved successful, with the materials, including customised lace to create the sun, culminating in a visually appealing collection.

The fashion show featured 66 items, with 60 models and six Vaseline Glow dolls representing personalities like Naliyani Uma, Lerato Kgamanyane, Robyn Mentor, and Gugu Gumede. The Vaseline Glow Dolls symbolise the strength and glow of women who have overcome challenges in their lives. Attendees were enthusiastic about the collection, with some eager to purchase the items. The event served as a testament to the growth of the Malondie brand and its commitment to catering to every woman.
