'Maharashtra Will Work To Empower Nomadic And Denotified Communities,' Says Deputy CM Eknath Shinde At Mumbai Conference

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, emphasized during the Nomadic and Denotified Communities Rights, Justice and Development Conference in Mumbai the need to empower the nomadic and denotified communities. Shinde stated that the government aims to eliminate the identification of these communities based on displacement and deprivation, and to foster a stable and worry-free society for them, with access to education, employment, and basic amenities.

The conference, organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Shiv Bhatke-Vimukta Sena and led by Sanjay Rathod, highlighted the challenges faced by these communities, including difficulties in obtaining caste certificates, insufficient permanent housing, and inadequate basic facilities. Shinde pledged the state government's full support towards bringing these communities into the mainstream, with a focus on ensuring equal opportunities in all fields.

He also mentioned that government schemes would be directly delivered to the last beneficiary to help members of these communities become self-reliant. Furthermore, Shinde stressed the importance of preserving the traditional arts and cultural heritage of these communities, with the Tourism Department playing a role in showcasing their art and culture, both locally and globally.

Rathod highlighted the need for permanent settlements, housing, amenities, and political representation for the communities, while also pledging to continuously raise their issues at the highest levels of the country.
