Latur: Special Aadhaar Process For Elderly Farmers With Fingerprint Issues

Latur: A unique process has been put in place under the ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana 2026’ to help elderly farmers and those with fingerprint recording difficulties complete Aadhaar authentication, according to Nanasaheb Chavan, the Joint Registrar of the Cooperative Department. He encouraged farmers to visit their closest ‘Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra’ to complete the procedure.

Visiting farmers should bring their Aadhaar card and bank passbook. The authentication procedure will commence after confirming the farmer's loan account details through the relevant account number or Aadhaar number on the scheme's website. If a fingerprint fails to match during Aadhaar authentication, the farmer should try again with different fingers, up to three times.

If authentication still fails after three attempts, the option “Authentication not possible” should be chosen. The ‘Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra’ operator will then conduct the Aadhaar authentication using their own fingerprint. Once this is done, the case will be forwarded to the Tehsildar. The Tehsildar will verify the farmer's documents, including the Aadhaar card, bank passbook and 7/12 extract, to confirm their identity.

After the identity is confirmed based on the Aadhaar number and the submitted documents, the authentication process will be finalized. Upon completion of Aadhaar authentication, the benefits under the loan waiver scheme will be deposited online into the eligible farmers' accounts, as per the criteria set by the scheme. Chavan mentioned that Deepak Tavare, Commissioner for Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, has directed officials to promptly act on Aadhaar authentication for elderly farmers and those with non-matching fingerprints, following the established procedure.
