King Charles congratulates king on Malaysia’s National Day

King Charles III and Queen Camilla extended their greetings to Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, and the Malaysian people on the occasion of the country's National Day. In a message released by the British high commission in Malaysia, King Charles conveyed his optimism that the UK-Malaysia strategic partnership would serve as a valuable platform to strengthen cooperation between the two nations in various domains, including trade, technology, and shared priorities.

He particularly emphasized the importance of jointly leading the international Forest, Agriculture, and Commodity Trade Dialogue, with the aim of promoting sustainable commodity supply chains and enhancing the livelihoods and resilience of farming communities.

King Charles highlighted the critical role of smallholder farmers in ensuring food security across the Commonwealth. He also reflected on the enduring partnership between the two nations, rooted in shared values and mutual respect that characterize the Commonwealth. The monarch expressed pride in the role the family of nations plays in fostering understanding, cooperation, and opportunity worldwide.

He also acknowledged the longstanding educational ties between Malaysia and the United Kingdom, which exemplify the spirit of partnership by connecting people and empowering future generations.

King Charles expressed anticipation for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November, where both nations may reaffirm their shared commitments and outline a future course of action.
