Java News Roundup: GraalVM, Jakarta Data, JNoSQL, Azul Payara, WildFly, Quarkus, Atmosphere

This week's Java roundup for August 24th, 2026, includes various updates and releases. Atmosphere 4.0 has reached general availability (GA), and several point releases have been made for GraalVM, Azul Payara, and Quarkus. WildFly 41 has been updated to a maintenance release, while Jakarta Data and Eclipse JNoSQL have both seen milestone releases.

Open Liberty 26.0.0.9 is in beta, featuring support for the MCP Java API and metric updates. GlassFish 8.0.4 Docker images have been released by OmniFish. GraalVM 25.3 introduces a new SubstratePriorityInliningPhase class for better performance and improved security features. Jakarta Data 1.1.0 brings bug fixes, documentation improvements, and new features like @OrderBy annotations and null safety support. Eclipse JNoSQL 1.2.0 adds an AutoApplyConverters class and CDI interceptor support.

Azul Payara 7.3.0 includes Community, Enterprise, and Micro editions with gRPC support, access log enhancements, and the initial implementation of the Jakarta Agentic AI specification. WildFly 41.0.1 updates the filter as per JEP 290 and upgrades Apache CFX for SSRF attack mitigation. Quarkus 3.39.0 offers post-quantum cryptography support and a reversal on reflection-free Jackson serializers by default.

Additionally, Quarkus Flow 1.0.0 has been released, implementing the Open Workflow Specification with new features like a Java DSL, Agentic AI orchestration, and cloud event emission/consumption.
