Is Burnham just Starmer with vibes? The same lobby groups funded both

The Labour Party has been heavily influenced by big business and pro-Israel groups since its inception under Blair, a trend that continues under current Prime Minister Andy Burnham. Despite promising to end neoliberalism and break from the previous administration, Burnham has backed down on several key policy pledges. These include abandoning support for rent controls, reversing a plan to cap large political donations, and delaying the nationalization of sewage-dumping Thames Water.

Additionally, Burnham's stance on climate change and international affairs, such as his lack of action against Israel's actions in Gaza and his refusal to acknowledge the genocide, mirrors his predecessor, Keir Starmer. Burnham's lack of decisive action and his close ties to pro-Israel interests, as well as his failure to condemn the genocide, raise doubts about his ability to make a genuine break from the political system dominated by profit extraction and US imperial interests.
