IRGC: Oil tanker catches fire after hitting mines in Strait of Hormuz Iran's IRGC has said that an oil tanker attempting to cross an "illegal route" through the Strait of Hormuz has caught fire after hitting two sea mines. In a statement carried by IRIB, the IRGC said that the vessel “completely stopped" after colliding with the mines.
