Germany's Wamser completes move to Man City

Manchester City has officially completed the signing of German defender Carlotta Wamser from Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year contract. The 22-year-old, who can play both left-back and right-back positions, previously joined Leverkusen from Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in July 2025. This marks City's third acquisition of the summer, following the signings of defender Niamh Charles from Chelsea and forward Beth Mead from Arsenal.

Injury concerns loom large for the WSL champions, with key players such as Niamh Charles, Grace Clinton, Vivianne Miedema, Jade Rose, and Laura Wienroither sidelined. Wamser has amassed 14 international caps and has been a key member of the German underage teams, including the victorious Under-17 European Championship squad in 2019.
