General : Boy Injured After Foot Run Over By Tow Vehicle During National Day Parade

KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug 31 — A three-year-old boy was injured on August 31 when his foot was accidentally run over by a tow vehicle during the 2026 National Day parade. The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 am in front of Wisma Persekutuan. The boy's mother, Puteri Anis Athirah Wan Rosli, 36, from Cendering, explained that her son, Che Ku Muhammad Khairul Amir Che Ku Mohd Khairul Azlan, was followed by his seven-year-old sister as she took photographs when the tow vehicle carrying a Fire and Rescue Department boat stopped several times in front of the Wisma.

The seven-year-old ran ahead to take photos, and her brother followed her. When firefighters attempted to move him slightly aside for his safety, he fell forward, and his foot was run over by the tow vehicle. Puteri Anis Athirah stated that an X-ray revealed no broken bones, though her son continued to be monitored at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ).

She expressed gratitude to the police for their prompt response and for safely transporting her son to HSNZ around 10:15 am. Puteri Anis Athirah also clarified that she does not blame the firefighters, as the accident occurred because her son was excited. The Kuala Terengganu district police chief, ACP Azli Mohd Noor, confirmed the incident and mentioned that the exact cause is still under investigation.
