FG Hands Over 188 Housing Units to Taraba

The federal government in Nigeria has recently completed the construction and handed over 188 housing units to the Taraba State Government in Jalingo. This initiative is part of the national effort to address the housing deficit across the country and provide affordable housing for citizens. The houses were constructed under the government’s National Housing Programme (NHP), which has been implemented in all states of the federation.

During the hand-over ceremony at the Government House in Jalingo, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqa Darma, presented the keys to the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas. The event was also attended by the Minister of State for Housing, Yusuf Ata, and the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Shuaib Belgore. Darma emphasized the significance of housing as a fundamental human need and highlighted the government's commitment to closing Nigeria's housing gap through this project.

He stated, "Housing is one of the most essential needs of any human being. The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is building these houses across the country. They must be functional, and they must be occupied."
