Ex-Deputy Convicted of Assaulting Women Now Chaplain for Christian Cop Group

Former San Diego Sheriff's Deputy Ricky Fischer, convicted of assaulting multiple women, now serves as a chaplain for the Christian Law Enforcement Fellowship, a Christian organization supporting the law enforcement community in San Diego County. Fischer's past crimes included unwanted groping, kissing, and forcing victims to perform oral sex, leading to over 20 women accusing him of abuse over a two-year period.

San Diego County taxpayers paid nearly $10 million in settlements for the civil cases filed against him. Despite his conviction, Fischer now leads the Christian Law Enforcement Fellowship, which provides support, mentorship, prayer breakfasts, and marriage retreats to police officers in the region. The organization's leadership includes high-ranking former law enforcement officials, including retired San Diego Police Department Capt.

Jerry Hara and retired lieutenant Misty Cedrun. The organization also employs current chaplains for the San Diego Police Department, including Sheriff Kelly Martinez, who is shown on the group's website. Sheriff Martinez informed the group that she was unaware of her photo being used and requested its removal. The organization's spokesperson, Lieutenant David Collins, stated that Martinez supports the organization's work and appreciates its value to their employees and the community, though she could not comment on the hiring decisions.
