Embrace Lord Krishna's message of truth, duty, public welfare: Adityanath

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged citizens to embrace the teachings of Lord Krishna ahead of Janmashtami. In his greeting to the state's population, Adityanath highlighted Krishna's messages of truth, righteousness, duty and public welfare as a guiding principle for a prosperous and harmonious society.

The Janmashtami celebration is set for September 4, and the chief minister emphasized that Krishna's life exemplified the essence of welfare-oriented governance. Under the current administration, the state government is striving to uplift the marginalized, create employment for the youth, aid farmers, and promote equal opportunities for women.

Adityanath also pointed out that Krishna, despite his royal status, valued friendship over social hierarchy, noting the bond between Krishna and Sudama as an example of affection-based relationships. This friendship, he added, symbolized the need for harmony and equality in today's society.

The CM further explained that Krishna's childhood stories conveyed spiritual wisdom, with episodes such as butter-stealing symbolizing innocence and social harmony. Subduing the serpent Kaliya represented the triumph of righteousness over injustice, while the lifting of the Govardhan mountain showcased the power of collective cooperation and respect for nature.

Overall, Krishna's life demonstrated that societal strength emerges through unity and cooperation, as illustrated by the Govardhan Puja event. Adityanath highlighted that Krishna's teachings transcended time and continued to provide direction in every era, and Uttar Pradesh, with its strong association to Krishna's divine pastimes and teachings, remains a vital center of the state's cultural consciousness.
