Embakasi undercover operation cracks Nairobi stolen phone syndicate

A stolen mobile device has unraveled a network of illicit mobile phone dealings in Nairobi, as revealed by authorities. Following intelligence received, police officers from Embakasi and Central stations conducted an undercover operation along Munyu Road. This probe culminated in the apprehension of an individual allegedly engaged in the illegal trade.

Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to purchasing the phone from acquaintances and subsequently reselling it. The suspect's admission provided valuable insights into the syndicate supplying stolen devices. The search operation unearthed an additional 12 mobile phones and six phone batteries, hinting at the premises' utilization for receiving and trading stolen devices.

Investigations are now underway to identify further suspects and ascertain the scope of the network and the movement of stolen handsets within the trade. Members of the public are advised to report any suspicious activities to their nearest police station. The National Police Service has emphasized the importance of public vigilance in combating such criminal activities.
