After trimming their roster to the mandated 53 players, the Philadelphia Eagles are now focusing on forming their practice squad. The squad can consist of 16 players, with a maximum of 17 if one player is from the International Player Pathways program. The Eagles have the opportunity to claim Joshua Weru and Uar Bernard, who were waived on August 30, as both are former IPP alums.

The process of forming the practice squad begins on August 31 at 1 p.m. once waiver claims have been cleared. If a player is claimed by another team, they will join the 53-man roster of the claiming team. However, if a player is not claimed on waivers, they become eligible to sign to any team's practice squad. It's important to note that more than 1,100 players were either waived or released on August 30 as teams reduced their rosters from 90 to 53.

A practice squad player is not permitted to play in games, except for two game-day elevations. They are allowed to be elevated to the 53-man roster three times during a season.
