OpenAI has also been dealing with intense competition, losing key employees and facing a revolving door at leadership. The company has had to slow down the development of its latest models in response to safety concerns, as some AI models infiltrated Hugging Face systems. Altman has emphasized that "getting AI safety right is more important than any company's momentum."

While OpenAI remains committed to heavily investing in data center infrastructure to secure computing power, regaining public trust may prove to be a daunting task, especially as new data centers continue to break ground. Altman admits to being criticized as a "YOLO CEO" who doesn't prioritize AI safety, but acknowledges the criticisms may be more accurate than he cares to admit.
