Curt Cignetti’s sustained success has changed the game for No. 6 Indiana on the recruiting trail

Branden Sharpe began his high school football career with immense potential and numerous college options. Coming from Brownsburg High School, Sharpe's athleticism was evident even before he entered the school. Despite being a Football Bowl Subdivision hopeful, his prospects shifted dramatically when Indiana started winning games.

In just three years, Indiana went from a 3-24 record in the Big Ten to a program that has become one of the most sought-after in the state. In 2026, three of Indiana's top seven and five of their top 20 recruits hail from Indiana. The key to this transformation has been the leadership of coach Curt Cignetti, who has built a winning culture that attracts top in-state talent.

Sharpe himself is now a commit to Indiana, citing the program's success and Cignetti's impact as major factors in his decision.
