'Creating wealth is incomplete without safeguarding physical health and mental wellness' - Lady Julia advises women

Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, recently addressed a gathering of African women entrepreneurs, professionals, and community leaders in Maryland. The Eve International Foundation, founded in 2022, has impacted around 1,300 women since its establishment. Lady Julia emphasized the importance of legacy and longevity, highlighting that women inherit both wealth and health.

She explained that the forum aimed to transform the shared history of African women and the African diaspora into actionable economic strategies. Key themes included economic empowerment, diaspora partnerships, and holistic health. Lady Julia stressed that creating wealth without safeguarding physical health and mental wellness leaves future generations vulnerable.

At the forum's opening, Eve collaborated with the Eve Medical Foundation and the KGL Foundation to inaugurate the first phase of the KGL EVE Medical Center in Kumasi, Ghana, the first mental wellness facility in the region. On International Women's Day, Eve reached 500 market women in Accra with free medical screenings and legal guidance.

The forum concluded with a tribute to Ghanaian women worldwide for their contributions to business, mentorship, and advocacy against workplace barriers, gender-based violence, and cultural silences surrounding mental health. Lady Julia encouraged participants to commit to cross-border mentorship, joint investments, and sustained healthcare advocacy as they left the forum.
