Cats claim they are not distracted by concussion controversy

Geelong midfielder Tom Atkins asserts that the team's sole focus is the upcoming elimination final against Carlton on Friday night at the MCG. The Cats received a $140,000 fine for not officially notifying the AFL about Jake Kolodjashnij's concussion waiver in his contract. This fine consists of $100,000 and a suspended sanction of $40,000, stemming from a previous $100,000 fine handed down by the league last October following an investigation into the club's third-party agreements.

Kolodjashnij, who recently returned to the club, has not played at any level since the controversy. Following Monday's inquiry, Atkins stated that the players have not discussed any similar concussion agreements and that their primary concern is performing well in the finals. Atkins expressed his satisfaction in having Kolodjashnij back in the team, despite the desire for him to return to full training.
