Candyman Lucas Mensah pledges GH¢5,000 sponsorship for CMA New Artiste of the Year

Candyman Lucas Mensah, the founder of the Central Music Awards, has committed GH¢5,000 to sponsor the New Artiste of the Year category for the 15th annual Central Music Awards. This pledge was disclosed during the 15th CMA Seminar held in Cape Coast on Saturday, August 29, 2026. During his address titled “From an Idea to a Movement: The CMA Journey at 15,” Mensah provided insights into the challenges and triumphs that led to the inception of the Central Music Awards, as well as his aspirations for its future growth, particularly in recognizing and nurturing burgeoning musical talent from the Central Region.

The sponsorship aligns with Mensah's dedication to fostering opportunities for young artists within the region. This contribution is specifically earmarked for the New Artiste of the Year category, an integral part of the 15th-anniversary celebrations of the Central Music Awards. The seminar, themed “Celebrating the Journey, Taking Stock, Building Tomorrow,” convened a diverse assembly of individuals from the Central Region's creative community, including musicians, industry professionals, and stakeholders.

The event featured enlightening presentations by experts such as Dr. Margaret Delali Numekevor, a music and dance lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, and Nana Ekua Apeatsewah II, the previous Chairperson of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) in the Central Region. The seminar presents a valuable platform for creatives to acquire knowledge, enhance their brand presence, establish professional networks, and elevate their work to international standards.
