Barcola joins Liverpool from PSG in $166M deal for biggest signing of the summer transfer window

Liverpool has completed a record-breaking transfer by signing Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for a deal worth $166 million. The 23-year-old French international, who has won back-to-back Champions League titles with PSG, was primarily an impact substitute but now is expected to become a key part of Liverpool's attacking lineup alongside Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.

Barcola expressed his happiness at signing a long-term contract with Liverpool, stating he "really wanted to be on the pitch and be able to play." As a left winger, he is not a direct replacement for Mohamed Salah, who played on the right flank for nine years before moving to Trabzonspor. The £106 million (106 million pounds) fee paid for Barcola, plus potential add-ons up to £17 million ($23 million), sets a new record for the highest transfer fee within the French league.
