At least five Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza City

GAZA CITY - An Israeli airstrike on Monday resulted in at least two Palestinian deaths and multiple injuries, according to health officials. The attack targeted a gathering of individuals in close proximity to the municipal public park in Gaza City, a region characterized by its high concentration of displaced families. The Israeli military has not yet provided an official statement regarding this incident.

Following the ceasefire implemented by the United States in October 2025, while intended to cease the intense hostilities, it has not effectively halted the military operations of Israel. Israel maintains that these strikes are undertaken to prevent potential attacks from Hamas and other militant groups within Gaza. Conversely, Hamas argues that Israel is breaching the ceasefire terms and obstructing the fulfillment of a comprehensive plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, which includes Israeli troop withdrawals and the disarmament of Hamas.

Since the ceasefire went into effect last October, over 1,300 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza, as reported by local health officials. On the other hand, the Israeli military claims to have suffered the loss of four soldiers.
