Arde Bogotá tuns Cartagena’s secret submarine tunnels into set for newest music video

Cartagena's historic submarine tunnels are set to star in a new music video by local Spanish band Arde Bogotá. The band has transformed the tunnels of El Espalmador into a striking visual backdrop for their latest single, "The Club of Lonely People." The music video, released in late August, is the third single from the band's upcoming album, "Manufacturing of the Club of Lonely People," due for release on October 2.

The video's unique aesthetic draws inspiration from the 1980s, aligning with the band's previous work. Filmed entirely in the municipality, the video spotlights one of Cartagena's most unique naval heritage sites. The band's creative director has a history of showcasing the city and its landmarks to international audiences. The Cartagena City Council, along with the Cartagena Film Office, supported the filming, which will help to highlight the tunnels' value to the city's historical heritage.

Mayor Noelia Arroyo believes the video will introduce many people to "a different, surprising, and still unknown Cartagena." The Cartagena City Council plans to recover the tunnels and integrate them into the future Tonina submarine museum project, further showcasing their potential as tourist attractions. Arde Bogotá's use of these renowned spaces emphasizes the city's unique offerings and their potential for future cultural and tourist developments.
