Apple Seeds Eighth visionOS 27 Beta to Developers

On this day, Apple has distributed the eighth beta of the forthcoming visionOS 27 update for developers to evaluate. This follows the release of the seventh beta a week prior. To access visionOS 27, users must navigate to the Settings app, enter the Software Updates section, and enable Beta Updates. The update brings Siri AI, a more advanced and capable version akin to chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude.

On the Vision Pro, Siri can respond to inquiries about the user's current perspective and a new Siri orb can be positioned anywhere within the user's virtual environment. Panorama photos can be transformed into spatial environments, and a new Icelandic Thórsmörk environment showcases towering mountains, vast valleys, glaciers, and the northern lights.

Web Environment support enables developers to craft 360-degree settings in Safari for a more immersive browsing experience within the Vision Pro. App windows now follow a curved design to enhance the immersive workspace, while Control Center has been restructured for improved accessibility of system controls. Apple has also introduced a smaller widget size and ensures that notifications expand automatically upon user interaction.
