Anambra comedian Nwosu shot dead

Anambra comedian Isaac Nwosu, widely known as Aiza Nwosu, was murdered in a targeted attack in Awka, the state capital. On Sunday night, another individual was killed in a separate incident within the city. The comedian was ambushed along S.M. Okeke Street in the Amaikwo neighborhood, while the second victim's identity is still unknown; they were shot along Capital City Road in Amaenyi. Residents reportedly evacuated the area upon hearing the gunfire, and law enforcement arrived shortly after the attacks.

Witnesses reported that three gunmen in a blacked-out vehicle followed Nwosu from his home, blocked his vehicle, and began firing. The comedian was left fatally injured inside his car, while the assailants drove to another location to kill a man on the street, reportedly taking his possessions as well. The exact reasons behind the killings remain unclear, although some residents suspect the attacks may have been linked to gang-related activities. The police have not yet determined a motive for the murders.

Following the incident, videos surfaced online showing the victims lying at different locations, with residents gathering around the scenes. The situation's unclear circumstances have prompted calls for action against a Borno Commissioner who allegedly threatened to cut off the fingers of those who vote against the All Progressives Congress (APC).
