Accused gestured to my daughter, she went as she knew him: Father of minor raped and killed in Greater Noida

A six-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, raped and murdered in Greater Noida on Friday by a man she knew from years, according to her father. The incident took place in a narrow lane in a village, where 20 men were sitting on Sunday afternoon. The father, a businessman, stated that he had last seen his daughter playing outside on Friday afternoon.

When he returned to check on her, she was missing. Neighbors and family members alerted the police in the evening, who then reviewed CCTV footage from a camera near the lane's entrance. The footage showed a man who was later identified as a friend of a relative of the child, gesturing to the girl from a distance. The girl's father said she went with him as she recognized him.

On Saturday, police apprehended the suspect from his relative's rented house but were unaware of the girl's fate. After questioning, the suspect led police to the child's body near a pond in the village. He confessed to killing the girl with a knife after raping her and hiding the body in shrubs 6-7 km away. The accused was killed during an encounter on Saturday night when he resisted arrest and fired at police with a pistol.

The officer who was injured is currently undergoing treatment. Police are still searching for the accused's relative, whose role in the incident is yet to be determined.
