3 Mistakes That Can Lead to Cancellation of UAE Work Visa

The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has outlined three critical employer-related mistakes that can lead to the rejection or cancellation of a work permit. Incorrect or forged documents, operating a fictitious business, or ceasing activity for which the company was originally registered are all violations that may result in denial of a permit.

Furthermore, failure to adhere to the Wages Protection System and other labor regulations can also trigger the cancellation of a work visa. It is essential to note that before a work permit can be approved, the employer's trade licence must be valid and free of violations. Additionally, the job title provided for the worker must align with the company's registered business activity.

Only an individual legally authorized to represent the establishment can submit the application for a work permit. On the worker's side, the minimum age for a standard work permit is 18, with exceptions for juvenile permits and student training or employment programs. The Ministry emphasizes that the framework considers both employer compliance and worker eligibility, and any deficiencies on either side can lead to rejection.

Trade-licence status, wage-payment compliance, and correct job-title matching remain active grounds for cancellation as long as the permit remains valid.
