‘2027 not for president who needs regular treatment’ – Sam Amadi on Tinubu’s three-week vacation

The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, has expressed optimism that Nigeria will have a president who does not require regular medical care or constant rest by 2027. Commenting on President Bola Tinubu's recent three-week vacation, Amadi labeled Tinubu as a resting president. Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed that Tinubu departed Abuja for Europe to commence his annual leave.

Onanuga stated that the Nigerian President would first visit London before returning to Nigeria for the January 2027 election campaign. Amadi commented on Tinubu's decision to take a break, stating, "The president leaves town to rest for three weeks in the midst of all these problems. Tinubu surely knows how to rest." He further expressed his hope for a future president who does not need constant medical treatment or extensive rest in 2027, emphasizing the importance of staying in Nigeria to address ongoing issues without endangering the common good.
