Works worth ₹8,022 crore give fillip to Rayalaseema development: Pawan Kalyan

A massive investment of nearly ₹8,022 crore in various development projects across the Rayalaseema region has significantly boosted its economic growth, according to Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for PR & RD and Environment & Forests K. Pawan Kalyan. The funds were primarily used for road construction and repair works, with a budget of ₹4,523 crore allocated for over 23,000 projects, covering a total length of 5,238 km. These efforts were aimed at enhancing connectivity and accessibility in the region.

The government also prioritized horticulture development, investing in the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar & Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) to support 28,000 farmers across 62,000 acres. This initiative has already brought 50,000 additional acres under cultivation. Groundwater levels were addressed through the construction of farm ponds and soak pits, while water conservation and drinking water supply schemes, including three mega projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission and Amarajeevi Jaladhara, were implemented. The construction of 41,614 farm ponds alone cost nearly ₹167 crore.

Wildlife conservation efforts were also highlighted, with a focus on reducing human-elephant conflicts. A training camp for 'Kunki' elephants was established in Palamaner constituency, where these trained elephants completed 15 operations, resulting in a 75% decrease in incidents. Additionally, the focus extended to improving cattle welfare and sanitation facilities for dairy farmers.
