We’ll Move Youths from Palliatives to Prosperity, Says Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has pledged to launch a $100 billion initiative for startups and entrepreneurs if he is elected president. Speaking in a statement posted on his social media, Atiku emphasized that young Nigerians require a government that fosters opportunities for prosperity rather than merely teaching them how to cope with economic struggles.

He highlighted the cost-of-living crisis, which has diminished the purchasing power of numerous Nigerians, hampered small businesses, and made it harder for the youth to secure employment, capital, and economic independence. According to Atiku, his administration, upon assuming office, would prioritize enhancing purchasing power, alleviating the cost of living, and broadening economic prospects for Nigerian youth.

"My commitment is to alter that. We will restore purchasing power, reduce the cost of living, and deliberately expand opportunities for young Nigerians, including a $100 billion financing program for start-ups and entrepreneurs," he declared. Atiku aimed to shift young Nigerians from dependence to entrepreneurship, unemployment to productivity, and palliatives to prosperity.

He received a delegation of N-Power beneficiaries who expressed their support for his presidential bid. Atiku thanked the delegation for their confidence and assured them that Nigeria's future could not be built through poverty distribution. Instead, he stressed the need to construct an economy that generates jobs, rewards entrepreneurship, and offers every Nigerian young person an equal opportunity to succeed.

Atiku further explained that Nigerians must choose between maintaining an economy that he claimed was diminishing opportunities or constructing one that restores hope, dignity, and prosperity. He added, "We will make Nigeria affordable again."
