“We are one house – let’s settle this at home” – Atomaase Royal family calls for unity, rallies behind Twafohene

The Atomaase Royal family of the Techiman Metropolis has urged Joseph Adom, a royal family member, to drop a lawsuit against the Twafohene and resolve the dispute over the sale of royal lands within the family. At a press conference held at the palace grounds, members of the family showed their support for the Twafohene, the traditional head of the community, and emphasized the need for an amicable resolution.

The family asserted that the Twafohene had not acted improperly in selling the lands and that the proceeds had been used for family development. Queenmother Nana Ama Oswusuaa Gyeduaa II defended the Twafohene, stating that he had been a unifying figure and that the funds from the land sales had been used to construct a grander palace for the entire royal household.

She expressed concern over Joseph Adom's decision to take the matter to court, suggesting that they should instead utilize the family's traditional mechanisms to settle the dispute. Abusuapanin of the family recounted numerous attempts to resolve the issue locally before resorting to the courts, expressing disappointment that Adom chose litigation over family mediation.

Obaapanin Nana Abena Kyeremaa echoed these sentiments, calling for the parties to withdraw their legal claims and resolve the matter through dialogue, emphasizing their shared blood and ancestral ties. The Atomaase Royal family reaffirmed its backing for the Twafohene and urged Adom to consider an out-of-court settlement. The case remains active in court, with Joseph Adom yet to respond publicly to the family's appeal.
