'Sidequests are almost my reason for doing videogames in the first place:' The dev behind one of the coolest upcoming RPGs says its word count is ballooning because they just love side stories so much

Lead developer James Wragg of Entropy, a unique RPG in development, explained that the game's word count is expanding due to his team's love for side stories. This is the second time Wragg is leading an RPG project, following the success of Dread Delusion, which featured many memorable side quests like an ethical dilemma with vegetarian zombies and an investigation into a person erased from history.

Despite initially planning for a shorter word count than Dread Delusion, Wragg found that his team was drawn to creating more detailed and interesting characters and storylines, leading to a larger word count for Entropy. The game features a large party size and allows for the hiring of anonymous mercenary characters, as well as story-centric party members with their own plotlines.

All characters, whether mercenary or story-based, will face permadeath. Wragg expressed his enthusiasm for the side content and believes it will be as well-received as Dread Delusion's. Entropy is available now on Steam in early access for $12/£8.99, with a demo that the reporter found to be a great introduction to the game.
