Sensational Suzuki sends ‘perfect’ Freiburg past Bremen

Bremen, despite fielding a strong Germany striker Niclas Fuellkrug up front, struggled to mount any significant attack and could only manage a late consolation goal from Dariusz Stalmach with 14 minutes left on the clock.

Meanwhile, seven-time German champions Schalke faced a 3-0 defeat against Augsburg in their first top-flight match in 1,191 days. The visitors were reduced to 10 men after Ron Schallenberg was sent off for a last-man foul. Augsburg took the lead with a goal from Michael Gregoritsch in the 18th minute, followed by another goal from Ron Schallenberg.

Anton Kade added to the score with 11 minutes remaining, and Rodrigo Ribeiro sealed the victory with a superb stoppage time strike.
