Saudi minister announces AI programs and training for 30,000 talents

Saudi Communications Minister Abdullah Al-Swaha recently unveiled plans for artificial intelligence university programs and extensive student training initiatives. The ministry aims to train approximately 30,000 talented individuals in the field of AI. According to Al-Swaha, the Kingdom now boasts over 80 technical schools offering professional certification courses, fostering national expertise in advanced technology sectors.

The digital economy in Saudi Arabia has experienced remarkable growth, expanding by more than 75 percent, which is more than double the growth rate of G20 economies. In the realm of telecommunications services, telecom companies are mandated to respond to customer complaints within five days, as per regulations. Al-Swaha revealed that the number of complaints filed against telecom companies has dropped significantly, from one million to varying levels each quarter.

Some quarters have seen fewer than 100,000 complaints, with a continuous quarterly decrease of around 15 percent.

Moreover, Al-Swaha emphasized the availability of multiple channels for users to submit complaints, ensuring their right to address issues within the legally mandated timeframe.
