Russian attacks on Ukraine kill eight and injure 41 over past day

Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukraine have claimed at least eight lives and left 41 people injured within the past 24 hours, as the country continues to face a barrage of missiles and drones. The latest casualties include a 13-year-old child killed and two others injured in Bilbasivka, Donetsk Oblast, after Russian forces dropped bombs on homes on August 30, according to Sloviansk Mayor Vadym Lyakh.

The day prior, seven people were injured across the region by Russian strikes, as reported by Donetsk Oblast Governor Vadym Filashkin.

In Kherson Oblast, three fatalities and 17 injuries occurred as Russian troops damaged six apartment blocks and 14 houses, along with buses, taxis, garbage trucks, and cars, as stated by Kherson Oblast Military Administration head Oleksandr Prokudin. In Kharkiv Oblast, an Iskander missile hit an annual charity race called "Honoring the Warriors, Running for the Heroes of Ukraine" on August 29, resulting in one death and two injuries, according to the National Police.

Over the past day, additional attacks in Kharkiv city and surrounding areas injured eight people, reported Governor Oleh Synehubov.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast was hit by an FPV drone on the same day, killing one woman and injuring two men, as reported by the National Police. Two more people were injured in attacks on Zaporizhzhia city, and one additional person sustained injuries in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Russian troops launched a total of 942 attacks in the region throughout the day.

In Odesa Oblast, an overnight attack injured three individuals and destroyed a food storage warehouse, as reported by Governor Oleh Kiper. Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast have been under relentless Russian bombardment for four consecutive days, with explosions and air defense fire occurring day and night. Over the past day alone, Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast witnessed the death of one girl and the injury of at least 14 people, with attacks still ongoing.
