‘Qatar has infrastructure to emerge as global logistics hub’

In Doha, Qatar, the Qatar Chamber recently took part in the fifth 'Arab-Brazilian Economic Forum' in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The forum brought together government officials, private sector leaders, and business magnates from across the Arab world and Brazil to discuss potential avenues for economic, trade, and investment collaboration.

Representing the Chamber was Mohamed bin Ahmed Al-Obaidli, a Board Member and Chairman of the Food Security and Environment Committee, as well as the Technology and Innovation Committee. He was joined by H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Ali Mohamed Al Shaibani, Qatar's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brazil, and Consul General of Qatar in Sao Paulo, H.E. Almuhannad Ali Al-Hammadi.

Al-Obaidli addressed the second session of the forum, 'Food Security, Agribusiness and Resilience of Fertilizer Supplies'. The session examined critical challenges and opportunities in agricultural supply chains and global food security. Al-Obaidli underscored the strong partnership between Arab nations and Brazil, noting that while Brazil leads in agricultural and food products, Qatar excels in energy and fertiliser production.

He emphasized that this strategic alignment lays a robust foundation for long-term investments and cooperation. Al-Obaidli affirmed Qatar's advanced transportation, storage, and distribution network, positioning the country as a dependable global logistics hub. He highlighted Qatar's achievements in enhancing food security, including boosting local production, diversifying import sources, and building robust strategic reserves.

Moreover, Al-Obaidli stressed the expansion of foreign investments aimed at scaling up national food security initiatives.
