Pet Dog Attacks Boy Going to Mosque for Fajr Prayer

A young boy sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a pet dog while en route to a mosque for Fajr prayers, according to ARY News. The incident occurred in Jhelum on Sunday morning. The victim, identified as Shaban, was walking to the mosque to perform his early morning prayers when the dog suddenly attacked him, leaving him severely injured.

Shocked residents rushed to his aid upon hearing his cries for help, rescuing him and swiftly taking him to a nearby hospital where medical staff administered first aid. Doctors, however, later transferred him to a hospital in Rawalpindi for further treatment and vaccination.

Upon learning of the incident, Shaban's father reported the matter to the police. City Police registered a case based on his complaint and subsequently arrested the dog's owner. Legal proceedings are currently underway.

Dog bite cases have been on the rise in various cities across Pakistan, with the majority of incidents involving stray dogs. New incidents continue to emerge from different cities and localities almost daily. The latest attack has once again brought public safety and the responsibility of pet owners to properly control their animals under scrutiny.
