Orange cat aptly named 'King Oyen' arrives on superbike, steals hearts at M'sia's National Day rehearsal

At the rehearsals for Malaysia's National Day celebrations in the country's capital on August 29, it was an orange cat named King Oyen that commanded the largest cheers from the crowd. Standing out amidst jet displays and marching contingents, King Oyen, a six-year-old American Shorthair with an orange fur coat, was unfazed by the event. The cat, who has attended the annual celebrations four times before, traveled to the event on his own custom-made superbike.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, which boasts over 24,500 followers, King Oyen can be seen seated comfortably in a man's arms before being raised to the audience. His calm demeanor was evident even when fighter jets and helicopters flew overhead. Named "King Oyen," the feline loves being in the middle of crowds. His owner, Siti Zalifah Abdul Aziz, 53, stated that King Oyen regularly attends the celebrations and even enjoys outdoor activities such as canoeing, cycling, and horseback riding.

Siti explained that these activities helped King Oyen feel secure in various environments, making him comfortable around people. Once at ease, King Oyen found himself loving the spotlight. However, his indoor personality differs from his composed outdoor demeanor; at home, he is described as mischievous. King Oyen's appearance at the rehearsal on August 29 at Dataran Putrajaya quickly stole the show, with many attendees eager to take photos with the orange cat. He was dubbed a "VIP" by some attendees.
