Roger Federer's induction speech at the International Tennis Hall of Fame left him visibly emotional on Saturday. The 45-year-old Swiss tennis legend, who boasts 20 Grand Slam singles titles, was inducted alongside fellow veteran Mary Carillo.

Federer was introduced by his wife, Mirka, who spoke before him. In his nearly 30-minute address, Roger struggled to maintain his composure multiple times. After Mirka's speech, he remarked, "Oh man, this is very high level and a tough act to follow." He even joked, "I don't know if you've been practicing secretly."

Several emotional moments arose as Federer remembered childhood idol Stefan Edberg, longtime coach Severin Luthi, and, most importantly, his wife Mirka. During a particularly poignant point, he said, "Now the Mirka part," before breaking into tears and exclaiming, "Oh gosh, this such a mess."

Regaining his composure, Federer thanked the ball boys and encouraged future players to keep advancing tennis. Reflecting on his remarkable career, he said, "I'm thrilled to have made the journey here. It's amazing to see yourself in a place like this. To immerse yourself in the history of the sport means a lot to me."

Mary Carillo, inducted as a contributor, expressed her own joy at the honor, stating, "She has earned her spot in sports journalism and she has earned her spot in Newport."
