NY Giants cut tracker: Who's in, who's out at roster deadline

East Rutherford - As the NFL approaches the crucial game day, the New York Giants and other teams face the daunting task of sending hopefuls home. With their initial 90-man roster, the Giants and other clubs must cut down to an initial 53-man team by the 6 p.m. cutdown deadline on Sunday. Approximately 1,184 players will lose their jobs before then.

Some roster reductions were made on Saturday, with the rest happening today. The process of culling players continues as the Giants aim to finalize their roster. Giants coach John Harbaugh emphasized that being a Giant is a cherished part of the organization, stating, "You become part of the team, part of the organization, part of the fabric of what it means to be a Giant." He expressed his belief that those who have been Giants will always hold that distinction dear.

Harbaugh recounted how players from earlier generations held onto their Giant title even after their playing careers ended. He urged the remaining hopefuls to view themselves as the best football players, emphasizing the value of each participant in the room. As the Giants prepare to make eight additional cuts, they will need to clear 29 more roster spots, with players such as CB Ugo Amadi, RB Damon Bankston, TE Josiah Deguara, DL Leki Fotu, WR Isaiah Hodgins, OL Brenden Jaimes, LB Anfernee Orji, and WR Kobe Prentice facing uncertain futures.
